New feature

AWS Elastic Disaster Recovery now supports AWS Graviton-based source servers

AWS Elastic Disaster Recovery now supports disaster recovery for AWS Graviton-based (arm64) source servers, allowing you to protect and recover Graviton workloads with the same simple, reliable DRS experience used for x86 workloads.

AWS Elastic Disaster Recovery (AWS DRS) now supports disaster recovery for AWS Graviton-based (arm64) source servers. As more workloads shift to Graviton for its price-performance benefits, they require the same disaster recovery coverage as other environment components. DRS automatically detects arm64 source servers and recovers them to Graviton instances while maintaining end-to-end workload architecture. Recovery operates like other servers, requiring no additional configuration. This feature is available in all AWS regions where AWS DRS is offered, at no extra cost. For more information, see the AWS Elastic Disaster Recovery User Guide.

Why it matters

AWS Elastic Disaster Recovery is AWS's disaster recovery service. Adding support for AWS Graviton-based servers enables equal recovery protection for ARM architecture workloads.
