Claude Opus 5.5 is now available on AWS GovCloud (US)

Amazon Bedrock now offers Anthropic's latest model, Claude Opus 5.5, on AWS GovCloud (US), enhancing long-running coding and knowledge work with clear reporting and improved efficiency.

Anthropic's latest claude Opus 5.5 model is now available on AWS GovCloud (US). As the first model in the claude 5.5 family, it completes tasks with fewer tokens and lower token prices than previous Opus 5. It efficiently handles long coding and knowledge work for enterprises and provides clear reporting of work and results. Amazon Bedrock offers default ZDR (zero data retention) support, keeping data within AWS infrastructure and ensuring data residency per region. It also provides AWS managed features like Guardrails and Knowledge Bases through a unified service.

AWS GovCloud (US) is designed for U.S. government agencies and regulated industries, offering enhanced security and compliance. This update allows users in these sectors to safely leverage the advanced AI capabilities of Claude Opus 5.5.
