Amazon DynamoDB global tables with multi-Region strong consistency now supports additional AWS Regions and cross-continent configurations
Amazon DynamoDB global tables with multi-Region strong consistency (MRSC) is now available in five additional AWS Regions, bringing the total number of supported Regions to 15.
Amazon DynamoDB global tables now offer multi-region strong consistency (MRSC) in five new regions: Canada (Central), Europe (Stockholm), Europe (Spain), Asia Pacific (Mumbai), and Asia Pacific (Singapore), bringing supported regions to 15 in total. Users can create MRSC global tables with three replicas or two replicas plus one witness region from any three of the supported regions, including configurations spanning North America, Europe, and Asia Pacific. MRSC enables zero-RPO high availability across regions, letting applications route to the nearest replica for strongly consistent reads and maintain availability during regional outages. It is ideal for global applications requiring strict consistency, such as user profile management, inventory tracking, order status, and rights management. For the full list of supported regions and configuration options, see the DynamoDB developer guide. Learn more about building resilient multi-region applications on the DynamoDB global tables page.
