Amazon Bedrock Managed Agents, powered by OpenAI, is now available in preview
Amazon Bedrock Managed Agents, developed jointly by AWS and OpenAI, uses a customized version of OpenAI's Agents API integrated with AWS resources. No additional charges apply during the preview period.
Amazon Bedrock Managed Agents (BMA), developed jointly by AWS and OpenAI, is a customized version of OpenAI's Agents API. It integrates with AWS resources, applying existing identity, permission, and governance controls. BMA manages how models maintain state, select and use tools, execute code, and coordinate multiple steps and decisions. It retains messages, tool calls, and intermediate results for sustainable sessions that can resume later with new information. Users can add reusable skills or connect agents to tools via the Model Context Protocol (MCP) server. Each agent operates under its own IAM role, supports human approval for critical actions, and logs API activity in AWS CloudTrail. During the preview period, there are no additional charges for BMA itself, though charges apply for AWS resources used. Pricing may change when BMA becomes generally available. Amazon Bedrock Managed Agents is currently in preview in US East (N. Virginia), US West (Oregon), and US East (Ohio). For more details, see the Amazon Bedrock documentation.
