AWS Deadline Cloud now supports ECS containers on Linux Service-Managed Fleets

AWS Deadline Cloud now supports running jobs using Docker containers from Amazon ECS on Linux-based service-managed fleets, enabling a faster transition from existing containerized software workflows to a fully managed render and compute farm.

Aws deadline cloud is a fully managed service that helps teams run compute-intensive workloads in the cloud for visual effects, animation, product design, simulation, and gaming. Customers can deliver their own software containers directly to the service using docker-enabled fleets. Those packaging software into container images can specify these images directly to deadline cloud, enabling any use case for container-deployed software such as rendering tools like blender or physics ai workloads like nvidia isaac sim and mujoco. With service-managed fleets, deadline cloud automatically deploys containerized software to all worker instances for large-scale rollout. Containers integrate with deadline cloud fleets and queues, so customers need not include container commands or image references in their job templates. This allows job bundles running locally with the open job description cli to be submitted to deadline cloud without additional changes, speeding transitions from existing containerized software workflows to fully managed rendering and compute farms. Container support is available in all aws regions where deadline cloud is offered.

Why it matters

AWS Deadline Cloud is a fully managed service that helps teams run compute-intensive workloads in the cloud for visual effects, animation, product design, simulation, and gaming. This update allows customers to bring their own containerized software directly to the service, simplifying the transition from existing workflows to a fully managed render and compute farm.
