New feature

AWS Builder Center now offers availability notifications and advanced filters for AWS Capabilities by Region

AWS announces feature-level availability notifications and advanced filters for AWS Capabilities by Region in AWS Builder Center, allowing users to track service or individual feature availability across regions and quickly compare regional differences.

Today, AWS launched feature-level notifications and advanced filtering for AWS Builder Center across AWS Regions. Users can set notifications for service or specific feature availability in regions of interest, with in-app alerts and weekly email digests showing features enabled after notification activation. Notification settings apply to all features within a service, and the all-Regions option includes future additions. API actions and CloudFormation resources can be filtered by availability status, allowing display of all inter-region features, only applicable ones, or just differences. This enables quick extraction of precise differences among over 19,000 API actions and 5,000 CloudFormation resource types. Feature comparisons require no account, but setting notifications needs a free Builder ID. For details, see the AWS Builder Center FAQ.

Why it matters

AWS Capabilities by Region helps developers check which AWS services and features are available in specific regions. This update enables real-time tracking of regional availability and easy comparison of feature differences across regions.
