AWS GovCloud (US) now offers Claude Haiku 5.5, the fastest and most efficient model in the Claude 5.5 family, built for sub-agents and high-volume, cost-sensitive tasks. According to Anthropic, it reduces costs by about 75% compared to Haiku 4.5 for most tasks, with significant performance gains in coding, tool use, computer operations, and agent capabilities. It features effort control to balance cost and intelligence per task, making it ideal for real-time experiences like voice agents and live support, as well as heavy tasks such as classification, summarization, and extracting key fields from documents. Haiku 5.5 can also serve as a high-performance sub-agent. Amazon Bedrock provides Haiku's capabilities while keeping data within AWS infrastructure, offering region-specific data residency and access to managed features like Guardrails and Knowledge Bases. For details and regional availability, see Amazon Bedrock documentation.
