AWS Health introduces the version catalog for software lifecycle management

AWS Health now offers a version catalog, centralizing software version lifecycle information across AWS services to help customers proactively manage version upgrades and end-of-support risks.

Today, AWS Health introduced the version catalog to centralize software version lifecycle information across all AWS services. Available via the AWS Health dashboard, customers using Business Support Plus, Enterprise Support, or Unified Operations can integrate lifecycle data into operational workflows through the AWS Health API. The version catalog enables customers to shift from reactive to proactive management, helping control upgrade and end-of-support risks. Initially targeting services such as Amazon RDS, Amazon EKS, and AWS Lambda, it will expand to more services over time. The catalog is available in all AWS commercial regions; for details, see the version catalog in the AWS Health dashboard or read the documentation.

Why it matters

AWS Health emphasizes the importance of version management for maintaining security and operational posture of applications running on AWS. This version catalog helps customers build upgrade schedules and governance controls, enabling them to move to newer supported versions before receiving account-specific planned lifecycle events.
